Jack O'Neil is a painter based in Brooklyn, New York.

He chases nostalgia, the uncomfortably comfortable feeling that washes over you dusting off a 20-year-old video game or driving through your old neighborhood. He’s always searching for those bizarre, quiet moments that make life feel like it's in a vacuum (aside from the annoying buzz of a fly) and for the beauty in the simplicity (or complexity) of the mundane…the kinds of things, peoples, and places that are overlooked.

Through dreamlike and surrealist imagery, he unravels this obsession and attempts to capture a tiny bit of strangeness that comes with an affection for the past.

Jack studied studio art at the University of Virginia, focusing on sculpture. His education and experiences working at Jackson Fine Art Photography Gallery in Atlanta and Bonhams Auctioneers in New York have contributed to his evolving work and perspective.
